Vehicle rear-ends Metro bus in Long BeachAugust 4, 2012 |  3:21pm

Six people were injured Saturday in Long Beach when a vehicle rear-ended a Metro bus, authorities said.

The Line 232 bus was stopped at the corner of Anaheim Street and Santa Fe Avenue about 10:40 a.m. when it was struck from behind, Metro spokeswoman Helen Ortiz Gilstrap said.

Four bus riders who complained of neck and shoulder pain were transported to Long Beach Memorial Medical Center, and two others said they would see their own physicians, Gilstrap said.

There were 17 people on board when the accident occurred. It was not known whether the driver of the vehicle was cited.
