Sheriff's deputy pleads no contest to sex charge involving teenAugust 10, 2012 |  6:56pm

A Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputy pleaded no contest Friday to oral copulation with a person under 18, prosecutors said.

Kenneth Alexander, 46, met the girl when he responded to an investigation at her home. The deputy, who was assigned to the sheriff’s Marina del Rey station, maintained a relationship with her for several months, according to prosecutors.

Alexander is set to be sentenced Aug. 29. He faces a possible five years' probation, 60 days in jail and one year of sex offender treatment.

Also Friday, the Sheriff’s Department began the process of firing Alexander, said spokesman Steve Whitmore. Alexander had been relieved of duty without pay since November.
