3 dead, 3 hurt when vehicle plunges off 134 FreewayAugust 12, 2012 |  8:11pm

 

Three people were killed and three hurt when a vehicle went off the side of the 134 Freeway in Eagle Rock on Sunday evening.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the accident was first reported after 6:30 p.m. when the vehicle -- possibly a minivan -- plunged off the  eastbound lanes of the freeway at Figueroa Street.

The people -- a man, woman and girl -- were pronounced dead at the scene. Three others were rushed to local hospitals. Their conditions were not immediately available.

The cause of the accident was not immediately clear.

The California Highway Patrol issued a SigAlert for both sides of the freeway.
