A YMCA housing tenant was stabbed Monday morning during a dispute with a janitor at the Louise Street building, officials said.
The tenant, 47, and the janitor, 66, who sustained blunt force trauma to the head, were taken to Los Angeles County-USC Medical Center, where they were treated for non-life-threatening injuries, Glendale Police Sgt. Tom Lorenz said.
Few details were released, but Lorenz confirmed that both men were being detained as the investigation continued Monday.
The incident occurred about 9:51 a.m. in a common area at the YMCA’s housing building in the 100 block of North Louise Street, Lorenz said.
At some point during the fight, the tenant was stabbed in the arm and torso with a knife, which was recovered by police, Lorenz said.
YMCA offers monthly, weekly and nightly room rentals for men only.
