When Wilde Imagination wanted to add to their ever expanding product line of upscale, quirky dolls, designer fashions, and accessories, they once again turned to renowned doll artist and designer Robert Tonner. And what he came up with was a line beyond expectations its called Imperium Park and incorporates fashion dolls with Steampunk style and a storyline that will draw collectors in and keep them wanting more.
I wanted to create something totally different, and I had noticed that the Steampunk life-style was gaining in popularity as a sub-culture, much like Goth, notes creator Robert Tonner. And I thought this could be really interesting. Wilde Imagination has given me a lot of latitude in creating this line, which I love, and I think collectors of not only dolls, but Steampunk in general will go crazy for Imperium Park.
The debut line consists of Theodora Curiosity Bennett, standing 16 tall, fully articulated, crafted of high-quality hard plastic and vinyl, and dressed in true Steampunk style; and her brother Phineas Jules Bennett, who stands an impressive 17 tall and is definitely dressed to impress. Four additional outfits, two basic dolls, and an Apothecary Case accessory pack complete the initial line.
We were blown away with what Robert designed for the Imperium Park line, said Debra DeForte, Marketing Director for Wilde Imagination. He never ceases to amaze us or our collectors. Our official debut on March 12th sent our website into a tailspin collectors overwhelming gave this line the seal of approval sales definitely exceeded expectations.
Wilde Imagination may be on to something here. Steampunk, which is defined by Wikipedia as a sub-genre of science fiction, fantasy, alternate history, and speculative vision and involves a setting where steam power is widely used, is gaining in popularity. A Google search of the word: Steampunk gives you over 37 million hits, with websites devoted to everything Steampunk, from fashions, intricate gadgets using gears and antique watch parts, film festivals, magazines, and Yahoo groups. Steampunk even has its own FaceBook page.
The Imperium Park line will be sold directly to consumers via an eye-catching e-Commerce website (http://www.imperiumpark.com) where collectors can purchase the dolls, the many detailed Steampunk fashions, and accessories, and read the intriguing story being written. A catalog will also be available in early summer 2012.
We believe the Imperium Park line will surprise everyone and set a new standard in not only the fashion doll world, but the Steampunk world as well, said DeForte. The line has an amazing look, a spectacularly detailed fashion wardrobe, accessories true to the Steampunk life-style, and an intriguing storyline that could rival many Hollywood movie scripts what more could we ask?
